Daniel H. Case

February 25, 1925 - July 1, 2016

Case Lombardi remembers our colleague and friend as a dedicated and principled attorney whose integrity and generosity served as a model to us all.

Daniel H. Case was born in Lihue, Kauai on February 25, 1925. He attended boarding school at Punahou, graduating in 1942. He attended Williams College in Massachusetts and the University of Denver where he earned a law degree in 1952. After law school, he returned home to Hawaii to practice law. He joined the law firm and spent his entire legal career—60 years—with the firm that has borne his name since 1967. Throughout his career, Dan was widely respected and was consistently selected as one of Hawaii’s Best Lawyers. Daniel Case devoted his time and business acumen to a wide range of community organizations. He was a past president of the Hawaii State Bar Association, past president of the Rotary Club of Honolulu and served as a Punahou School Trustee for over thirty years. In 2012, the Council for the Advancement and Support for Education, presented Dan Case with its Seymour Preston Award for his exceptional leadership. He also served as a board member to some of Hawaii’s leading businesses including Grove Farm, Hawaii Publishing Company and Maui Land & Pineapple. Daniel Case retired from the firm and the practice of law in 2012.

Daniel H. Case embodied the highest principles of his profession and lead our firm with intelligence, wisdom and humility.
